A People's History of Britpop

2027 looks like being another year in which Oasis dominate the headlines, with tickets having sold out for a whopping 22 UK concerts, including six nights at Knebworth. And we're delighted to be able to announce that Britpop is joining the Spenwood family, with author Richard Bowes putting together a book covering the defining British music movement of the 1990s through the experiences of the people who lived it. The book will detail how Britpop emerged from recession-era Britain and became the soundtrack of a generation navigating class and a swiftly changing culture. It will be a social and cultural history of Britain in the 1990s, told through music and fandom, combining historical research with vivid first-person testimony and appealing to people who lived through it and those who were unlucky not to. Countless bands and fans were part of the era. If you were one of them, we want to hear your story. Whether you queued for Oasis tickets, were down at the front during Suede gigs, followed Blur around the country or saw Pulp as they hit the big time, let us know!
