Buzzcocks - A People's History
When the definitive history of the Manchester music scene comes to be written, the Buzzcocks will have a chapter all their own. Formed in 1976 by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto, the ‘classic’ line-up of Shelley, Steve Diggle, Steve Garvey and John Maher recorded the perennial punk classic ‘Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)’, rightly celebrated as two minutes and 40 seconds of the greatest music ever committed to vinyl. The Buzzcocks’ albums Another Music In A Different Kitchen, Loves Bites and A Different Kind Of Tension are all hailed as classic examples of post-punk pop.
Pete sadly passed away in 2018, leaving Steve Diggle to carry the Buzzcocks flag in live performance.
