PUNK: A People’s History
Released to celebrate the 50th anniversary year of the Sex Pistols’ ‘Anarchy in the UK’, Punk – A People’s History tells the story of Britain’s punk rock years with ‘les enfants terrible’ at its core. Mixing fan stories about the Pistols with memories of the other leading bands of the era, this book argues that punk’s not dead by showing the ongoing influence of the Sex Pistols. The book includes memories from older punks who saw the Pistols in 1976 and 1977 through to young punks who have only recently discovered the Sex Pistols. The Sex Pistols are the most influential band of the last 50 years and the book covers the key events in their career and the glory days of punk.
Will Boisseau has edited two books on punk music, DIY OR DIE! Do-It-Yourself, Do-It-Together & Punk Anarchism (Active Distribution, 2024) & Smash the System: Punk anarchism as a culture of resistance (Active Distribution, 2022) & written for numerous punk fanzines.
