Caird Hall Memories is the story of Dundee’s iconic concert hall in the words of over 200 concert-goers. The Caird Hall was completed in 1923 and in the past 100 years has hosted concerts by everyone from Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones through to Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Who, The Clash, Simple Minds and U2.

But it has also been the cultural hub of the city, hosting graduation ceremonies for the university, school concerts and everything from highland dancing to stand up comedy.

With a complete list of all the major rock shows that have taken place at the Caird Hall, this is the complete guide to one of Scotland’s most historic and most treasured music venues.

Susan Gillan worked at Dundee’s famed Caird Hall for over 35 years and worked or witnessed hundreds of shows at the Hall. She lives in Broughty Ferry, Dundee.
